Take a relaxing train ride through the piney woods of East Texas, enjoy unique special events with your family or relax on an evening dinner train on select dates throughout the season! This historic railroad offers steam train excursions that travel 25 miles through the scenic piney woods and hardwood creek bottoms of East Texas amidst a backdrop of rolling hills, nature and wildlife.
Named the Official Railroad of Texas by the State Legislature and embedded into American western culture. 16 movies, 7 TV series and special productions, 3 documentaries, 3 commercials, and 3 music videos have all been filmed here such as NBC’s TV Show Revolution and the hit Coen Brother’s movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Campground and park facilities are adjacent to railroad depots. There 71 camping sites with a mix of full hook-up and tent sites each with access to water and electricity.

Piney Woods Excursion
Our Piney Woods Excursion takes visitors on a relaxing and scenic round trip journey through the beautiful East Texas countryside. Our route is flanked by two exquisite Victorian Depots that give riders a glimpse of what it would be like to catch a train in the golden age of rail travel.  Our Lone Star Class feature climate-controlled seating at cloth covered tables, personal car attendant and snack service.

American Cuisine in a truly unique setting. Our chefs are designing menus that highlight the local ingredients prized by upscale, farm-to-table establishments paired with local craft beer, wine and spirits to round out a complete and satisfying dining experience.

Booking of 15 people or more receive special group discounts. Complimentary passes are provided for tour leader and driver. A deposit of 25% is due at the time of booking. Final guarantee payment is due 10 days prior to visit.
We can help you create the perfect event for your large or small group. A charter is an option to reserve the train for your special event – no other passengers will be on board your train! Chartering the train is perfect for company parties, fundraisers, private events such as weddings, dinners, school reunions, and filming.
